The NIH label database, checked on 6 October 2026, has no NOW sea buckthorn label, and the registered NOW Omega-7 softgel lists no plant part. An earlier version of this page reviewed and scored a NOW sea buckthorn softgel, which was wrong because we found no such product.
What NOW Foods has registered instead
NOW’s Omega-7 softgel is registered in the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database as label 28321, a 60-softgel bottle. The registered label, a dated snapshot, lists palmitoleic acid ethyl ester (672 mg per 3 softgels) and cholesterol (10 mg per 3 softgels), with no plant part. That is not sea buckthorn oil. The label’s own formula statement calls it a molecularly distilled fish oil with 26% palmitoleic acid and says it contains fish (menhaden).
NOW’s sea buckthorn products that we found are topical. A Vitacost listing shows a NOW Solutions Vitamin C & Sea Buckthorn Lotion (8 fl oz). We couldn’t read NOW’s own site, because it blocked our check on 6 October 2026, so we can’t say what its catalogue lists today.
The label database returns 56 labels for the sea buckthorn keyword and none is NOW. The keyword search for Hippophae returns no labels.
